Xiaomi is preparing to launch the new Xiaomi 12X smartphone in India soon, according to a report. Although no timeline has been provided, it is expected to take place in early 2022. Also, the report states that the phone is likely to come in two versions: one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and another with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Xiaomi has not announced any plans to bring the smartphone to the country, and pricing is unknown at this time. At launch, the Xiaomi 12X is believed to be available in three colour options: Blue, Grey, and Purple. To recall, the Xiaomi 12X was launched in China at CNY 3,199 which translates to Rs 37,500 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model. The phone also comes in an 8GB with 256GB model for CNY 3,499 which is approx Rs 41,000 and the 12GB RAM with 256GB model for CNY 3,799 that converts to Rs 44,500. The Xiaomi 12x features a 6.28-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1,0802,400 pixels. The display has a peak brightness of 1,100 nits, a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage, and runs MIUI 13 based on Android OS. The phone has a triple rear camera system with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, an f/1.88 aperture, and optical image stabilisation (OIS). The camera also has a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a field of view of 123 degrees and an aperture of f/2.4. A 5-megapixel macro camera is included with these. The rear camera setup is supported by a proprietary CyberFocus technology for improved focus-locking. The Xiaomi 12x has a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front. It supports Stagger HDR and artificial intelligence-based beautification features (AI). A 4,500mAh battery powers the device and supports 67W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. In addition, 10W reverse wireless charging is supported by the phone. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Infrared (IR), and a USB Type-C port.
