He described his work as a series of accomplishments and a life which he holds very close to his heart. He said, that though he is quitting the board, he will still serve the platform side by side along with his other projects. To recall, Evan Williams co-founded Twitter in 2007 with Jack Dorsey and Biz Stone. The back story of the social media platform is that these three founders worked together at a podcasting company Odeo which Twitter was earlier a part of. Later it got disintegrated as the confluence of those three led to the creation of an independent microblogging website. In 2008, Evan Williams became the CEO of Twitter after Dorsey, and then he was replaced by Dick Costolo in 2010. It is very amazing to see, that despite betrayal, Williams continued to serve Twitter for 12 years.
Williams wrote a message on Twitter expressing his gratitude for his co-founders and board members. He said, “Thank you, @jack and @biz for starting this crazy company with me—and continuing to make it better and better. And to my fellow board members, new and old—some of the most thoughtful people I’ve ever known”. He also said. “I’m very lucky to have served on the @Twitter board for 12 years (ever since there was a board). It’s been overwhelmingly interesting, educational—and, at times, challenging.” For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
