It is believed that these new specification of PS5 will allow developers to be more creativity, building expansive worlds and new play experiences in the games they design. According to Mark Cerny, lead system architect for PlayStation 5, “PS5’s ultra-high-speed SSD and integrated custom I/O system were developed with the goal of removing barriers to play – specifically loading screens. Developers are able to stream assets into PS5 games at an incredibly fast rate, so PS5 play experiences can be seamless and dynamic, with near-instantaneous fast travel through large game worlds.” Apart from this, there is a custom GPU in PlayStation 5. The AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based graphics engine will allow for higher resolution in games. Moreover, the new feature of ray tracing also seems to be interesting. With a variable frequency of up to 2.23 GHz (that is 10.3 TERAFLOPS), the company revealed that ray tracing will render objects much more accurately, and with heightened realism. This means that water, glass, light refraction, a character’s hair etc. will look even more realistic. Moving on to the 3D audio tech that has been designed for the PlayStation 5, Sony has revealed that “the sounds you hear while playing will offer a greater sense of presence and locality. You’ll be able to hear raindrops hitting different surfaces all around you, and you can hear and precisely locate where an enemy is lurking behind you.” In addition to this, an official PS5 blog post has stated that PlayStation 5 users will also be able to play the top 100 PS4 titles ranked by play time owing to the backwards compatibility feature. Isn’t that interesting? There is more good news for gamers as PlayStation Store has come out with a Mega March offers deals up to 50% on a massive sale line-up.
