The smartphone was launched in China in May this year and it is basically a watered down version of the Redmi 7. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 439 SoC and it houses a 4,000mAh battery. To recall, last week, Xiaomi India’s managing director Manu Kumar Jain teased the India launch of the Redmi 7A, but then, he did not give a specific release date. He also added that the Redmi 7A smartphone in India will come with an upgrade that the China variant does not have. Coming to the Flipkart microsite, it has called the Redmi 7A as “Smart Desh Ka Smartphone.” While the website has not confirmed any details around the price and availability of the Redmi 7A, the listing does say that it will be launched on July 4. It also says that the smartphone will come with a “fast processor”, a “Facebook-ready camera” and a “long lasting battery.”
